Our History

The Mint to Be officiation service, and ultimately our future chapel location, was born from a desire to celebrate love in all its forms. Founded by Tate Craig, an ordained officiant since 2019, Mint to Be started as a heartfelt response to ensure inclusivity in the celebration of union, especially during times when many felt marginalized. With over 100 ceremonies under her belt, Tate has dedicated herself to creating services where every couple, regardless of their background, religion, or identity, can have their moment to shine.

As we look forward to opening our physical doors soon, Mint to Be remains committed to being a beacon of love and inclusivity, where every celebration is a testament to our belief that love truly knows no bounds.

Inspired by the vibrant spirit of Vegas-style chapels and the cozy charm of Gatlinburg, near the beloved Smoky Mountains and Dolly Parton’s own celebratory flair, Mint to Be will be more than just a venue— a landmark of celebration. Here, we promise a fun, welcoming, and memorable experience for every couple, ensuring that from the moment you step through our doors, we hope you feel excitement and joy for your special day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Some cool info to know:

How do I book my wedding with you?

Just give us a shout through our website, send a carrier pigeon, or if you’re feeling old school, drop us a Facebook message. We'll get you set up faster than you can say 'I do'!
If you need to achieve faster results, skip the "hellos" for now, and jump straight to the intake form: bit.ly/MintWeddings

What are your hours?

We personally love Wednesdays because it's halfway to the weekend! But no worries, we're here for you Wednesday to Saturday for all your elopement and wedding needs.
Check out the elopement package you are interested in for more details for the latest availability (plus the options for booking after hours) – we keep it fresher than your playlist!

What kinds of payment do you take?

We accept love letters, but for legal reasons, we also need actual money. You can pay for your ceremony via credit card, debit card, or an old-fashioned cash- just no checks, please. And if you’re feeling very 21st century, we take most digital payments, too. So, no need to dig up buried treasure—unless that’s your wedding theme, then we’re all ears!

Do you offer discounts?

Every day is special, so our prices are set to match the value of your experience—no discounts needed. Looking for something super simple? Opt for our $50 marriage license signing. It's all the legality without the frills, like a no-whip latte!
Feeling flexible? Keep an eye on our social media for announcements about future value-packed special packages we have around different occasions!

What can I expect for my elopement?

Our elopements are like a perfectly mixed cocktail: simple, sweet, and to be savored.
And yes, the chapel is on its way, but the magic starts the moment you say 'yes' to us! For now, we are happy to still officiate for you at your venue of choice!

What is the weirdest wedding you can do?

How weird do you want to go? If you dream of a zombie-themed elopement or want to exchange vows in superhero costumes, we're all in. Just remember: the only thing we don't find weird is love.

How many guests can we have?

Guests make or break some ceremonies! Check out your specific package to see how many guests can come.

What do I do if I am having cold feet?

First, breathe! Second, how about some warm socks? But seriously, if you’re feeling jittery, our team is here to support you every step of the way. We're like the best man you never knew you needed.
Also, as advocates for safe relationships, we will never push for a ceremony if someone is not ready.

Where are you located?

As we are securing our chapel location, we work from our office and at your location or venue.
Once the chapel is open, we will update all of the site details!

Is your service a place for couples from all walks of life?

Absolutely! We believe love knows no bounds. No matter your background, orientation, or style, you're not just welcome—you're celebrated. Our doors (and hearts) are open to everyone who believes in love triumphs over hate. So come as you are; we can't wait to be a part of your story!

What is not allowed?

We’re all about celebrating love in a joyful and respectful environment. To keep the good vibes going, we don’t allow illegal alcohol or drug use, and abusive actions or harmful rhetoric toward anyone—staff or guests—are a definite no-go. Safety and respect are our top priorities, so behavior that threatens these may lead to cancellation of the service. Let's keep it classy and pleasant for everyone!

What about a marriage license? How does that work?

If you are looking to be legally wed through the eyes of the law, you will need a marriage license from the county clerk, although if you are looking to be spiritually married, a marriage license is not required.
Information about obtaining your marriage license can be found online, and we will provide you with an easy to follow guide when you fill out your intake form.

"Best friend" ceremonies, vow renewals, and personal or spiritual vows do not require a marriage license, but will not have legal marriage status in the state of TN.
